SPEAKER_01Hey everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Let It Loose. My name is Rob. I'm Wes. And I'm Carlos. And on today's episode, we're letting our imaginations run wild a little bit and creating what for each of us would be a dream concert set list.
SPEAKER_03This is going to be very interesting. And it's pretty cool that we're doing this this week since we were just talking about our concert stories with Giovanna last week. Which I feel, I don't know about you guys, but I feel like we barely even scratched the surface. There's so many stories that we could share. And listening back, I'm like, oh, wait a second, we missed out on so many other things that we could have shared, but we could leave it for you know another episode or a series.
SPEAKER_01And I'm sure so many people have such interesting, funny stories. Like maybe somebody was at the Hawaii show where Gloria fell over the monitor because she was being covered in Lay's, you know.
SPEAKER_05I'm sure I don't know that story, really. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I've told that story a bunch. I'm sure if people reach out to us and tell us like their funny concert stories, that we could really do something.
SPEAKER_03We want to hear your stories.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, after after listening to that, I was like, because I haven't been to that many shows. Only I was looking at it from the concert tour perspective, only two, but I mean I just went to the show in Chile, and that was very special.
SPEAKER_01You did?
SPEAKER_05But yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, you barely talk about it, Wes, at all.
SPEAKER_05Um, there was two people that should have been there that weren't there, though. You know, Auda and who's the other person?
SPEAKER_03I wish. I really, I really wanted to be there, but listen, I'm gonna be trying to pay off these credit card bills for the the last year's concerts for quite some time.
SPEAKER_01For the foreseeable future, me too. Exactly. And I didn't even go on to a concert, so what am I paying off?
SPEAKER_03But it's all good, but yeah, there's so many other stories that that we could share. I know that in oh my god, I I want to say it was one of the Connecticut shows at some point. Um, I was on stage with Gloria. She's singing, I just wanna be happy. I was drunk and all of a sudden decided to start twerking on her.
SPEAKER_05Seriously, there's so many stories you haven't told us are me.
SPEAKER_03Like, I'm backing that ass up on Gloria and almost knock her over. I have this thing with almost like dancing with her and almost knocking her over, so I gotta be careful.
SPEAKER_05But yeah, here I am in 2001 listening to the Evolution Tour DVD numerous, numerous times, and you're dancing to Gloria with Gloria. Twerking, twerking, twerking. I don't even want to talk to you right now.
SPEAKER_03But, anyways, we'll we'll save all those stories for for another time.
SPEAKER_01But before we get into our game for today, it is time for Wes to take us to school with uh this week in Gloria History.
SPEAKER_05All right, so this week in Gloria History, since we're on the topic of concerts. This week in Gloria History takes us back to 1991 during the end of the Light World Tour. Gloria performed six sold-out shows in Rotterdam Holland at the Ohio Arena as part of the European leg of the tour. This marked her longest European run, spanning just over two months and more than 30 shows. The tour began on April 6th at Wembley Arena in London and concluded on June 10th in Barcelona, Spain. Her first time performing in Spain, before returning to the U.S. to kick off the summer tour.
SPEAKER_03Wes, we we don't have a quiz this week? No, no quiz. You could have quizzed us. You could have said, I don't know. I was nervous that there was a quiz coming. No, don't now. It's too late now.
SPEAKER_05It's too late.
SPEAKER_03It's too late.
SPEAKER_05No quiz. I'm gonna have to start thinking about that.
SPEAKER_01Do you remember the time that he quizzed us and said um what song called Seeks? And then stopped himself. It was the second single from Cuts Both Ways. And we had to pretend or not cuts both ways from Into the Into the Light. Um The acting of our lives.
SPEAKER_03Seal our fate?
SPEAKER_01It must be Seal Our Fate.
SPEAKER_05Okay, okay. Now I thought of one. No, no, you gotta do this. Okay, since we're the as everyone knows, the home video was the Rotterdam show, pretty much all of it. And then during the like ballad medley, during the home video, like it cuts into some of the your um US shows. Um so some songs were cut from the home video. So what song from Into the Light was performed on the set list, but not released on the home video? Well, there was actually during that during that ballad medley or just in general? No, no, just the show in general. There were two songs.
SPEAKER_03Well, you mentioned okay, I know one of them because you mentioned you can't go.
SPEAKER_05Yes, I lose what what other one? It's toward the end of the show.
SPEAKER_01Is it Remember Me With Love that one?
SPEAKER_05No, because it came out on the video. It was on the video.
SPEAKER_01I don't remember.
SPEAKER_03But it okay. Is it uh is it a slow song or a fast song?
SPEAKER_05Fast song, and it's toward the end of the show. Do you may give you a hint?
SPEAKER_03Oh, wait, I'm gonna be so upset because I've I'm probably gonna know it. Um Dr. Beat showed up, it was on the yep, that was it.
SPEAKER_05Dr. Beat. It was Dr. Beat, okay. Dr. Beat was cut from the home video for whatever reason. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm good. You are good.
SPEAKER_05You are good.
SPEAKER_03That's what she said.
SPEAKER_01Alright, so um who's gonna it's game time. It is game time. Uh today we're putting together our ultimate dream glorious defined concert set list, our fantasy show from opening number to final encore. So the way this is gonna work is uh we've created or I've created 17 categories. So that doesn't mean 17 songs, it means 17 categories. Um, and within the parameters of each category, we have chosen our song to build our ultimate Gloria Stefan set list. So the the impetus or the idea for this episode came about because Kylie Minogue, and I'm not a like a Kylie Minogue fan, but the idea of this tour is so fascinating to me. She did a tour called the Anti-Tour. And the Anti-Tour, the parameters were that every single song that she sang on that tour was never a single. So it could have been an album track, it could have been an unreleased song, it could have been a B side or a bonus track from some other country. But the idea was that from start to finish, she wasn't doing locomotion or can't get you out of my head. She was doing only deep cuts. That was not a parameter given to any of us, but I tried to stick with songs that I've never heard live or No, you just tried to complicate things.
SPEAKER_03That's that's what you tried to do. Just be complicated. You couldn't just be like, hey, give me your dream set list. No, you had to wait, wait until you guys see the crap that we had to deal with. Try to come up with they are fun, but Jesus Christ. It's not something to ever come up with at the last minute. Like you actually made like you gave us homework.
SPEAKER_01Well, I want the people to know that we prepare very seriously for this podcast.
SPEAKER_03Well, your ass should have been doing this last night instead of drinking.
SPEAKER_05There you go. Yep, yesterday was a rough day at work. I needed that.
SPEAKER_03Um always, always the white boy with the excuses.
SPEAKER_01My set list is all over the place. It is not it is not anything that she would ever do live.
SPEAKER_05Okay, we're in the same boat because these songs do not like blend to together well like at all.
SPEAKER_01I will say I haven't explanation for every one of my songs.
SPEAKER_03So I think mine is kind of more realistic. I didn't go too like far off the rails with with mine.
SPEAKER_01Okay, one question before we can get into it. Does everybody is there a song that you didn't include that you'd be surprised that people would want? Like Gonga or Rhythm is gonna get you, because those aren't on mine. Um they're on mine.
SPEAKER_05Okay, they're on mine, yeah. So you're mine. One, yeah, yeah. Yeah, so so some of those songs that everybody yeah, that how can I how could you not? And then here I am like looking at it, thinking like of other things I could add.
SPEAKER_01I really went niche with mine. Um whoops.
SPEAKER_05I'm curious. Yours is gonna be good. I have a feeling I have a feeling yours is gonna be the best.
SPEAKER_01No, mine's gonna be unhinged.
unknownReally?
SPEAKER_01I think mine has a good flow. Okay, mine does not.
SPEAKER_05See, mine does not at all.
SPEAKER_03See, I think I think in my head, mine has a good flow.
SPEAKER_05So there is no way in hell this would ever work in a concert. Now it shows you how hard it is to like put one together. I couldn't even imagine what that would be like.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Gloria would fire us if we were like, here's a here's my idea. She'd be like, No, go back to unemployment.
SPEAKER_05We're not professional musicians.
SPEAKER_03Well, hey, I have to say, I have been reached out by Gloria and team when she was preparing for the Chile concert and the concert in Spain for um ideas or songs that the fans would want to hear.
SPEAKER_05So why didn't you tell me this? I would have had some there should have been some cuts both ways.
SPEAKER_03I tell you everything. You don't pay attention to me, goddammit.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you probably did, but I wasn't going to Spain, so I didn't think about it. Anyways, let's get started.
SPEAKER_01Let's get into it.
SPEAKER_05All right.
SPEAKER_01Okay, track number one. Our first song is The Up Tempo Show Opener. And for mine, I began the show with party time.
SPEAKER_05Oh, that's a great one. Now I'm thinking, like, why didn't I do that? Well, mine. Okay. Okay, how are we gonna go in order? Is it Rob, me, Carlos? Yes, that's how we're gonna get on your feet. How could you not okay, okay?
SPEAKER_03Then literally, that's what you're supposed to do. You're supposed to say so. I did a combo. So Oh, we're allowed to do that? I did whatever the hell I wanted. So I did a combo, and I know that Conga is usually left for the end of the show. I say, why not pump up the audience? So start off with Conga and have it lead into I just want to be happy. Get everyone pumped up. Oh, I love that. Yeah, I love that. So that's my show opener.
SPEAKER_01That's a good one. All right, so the next track is our high energy Miami Sound Machine track.
SPEAKER_05Now are we Miami Sound Machine from like 84?
SPEAKER_01Doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_05Okay, well, I went I went like Po like 84 to 88.
SPEAKER_01Um I chose Hot Summer Nights for the song. Okay, because I love that song. I was I would agree live, obviously. Um and I think like the second track in a concert set list is like uh could be like a wink in a nudge to the fans and like still high energy, still whatever, but the fans who know know, and it's exciting.
SPEAKER_05That's a good one. I never even considered that one. I mean, how could I? And then I'm thinking to myself, how could I not? But obviously, I I went with Conga.
SPEAKER_03Okay, you went with Conga. All right, and then mine after the show opener, it leads into Dr. Beat. So I have Gonga.
SPEAKER_01I just won't be alive in a long time. Dr. Beat would be fun to do. Dr.
SPEAKER_03Beat, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Okay, all right. So so far, I mean I'll tell you one I was thinking about, but it was like not high energy, but it was kind of a dance MSM song. I mean, it's the 80s, everybody danced everything. It's it was all since primitive love. And now that I'm thinking about that, remember people wanted to hear primitive love really bad, and they performed that during live and rewrapped? Yeah, like during like um during the intermission, during the intermission.
SPEAKER_01It was Donna Allen.
SPEAKER_05Donna Allen, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was so good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was yeah, that was fun to hear live. Track number three early career throwback. I had really no rules for this except for as what you consider to be early career throwback song. I chose baila comigo.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
unknownWell, that's good.
SPEAKER_01Or as Wes says baila comingo, like Coleman.
SPEAKER_05Commingo. Well, how am I supposed to say it? Comingo. Comigo? Comingo.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05That's what I say.
SPEAKER_03No, you say commingo. Like domingo.
SPEAKER_05And maybe it just sounds like that over this microphone.
SPEAKER_03I mean, but we're Rob, we're kind of shady that we never corrected him until now. I know. I think it I think it's very sweet.
SPEAKER_05No, I didn't know. I like it.
SPEAKER_03That's why I didn't want to correct it because I like the I like my like.
SPEAKER_05I'm thinking that I'm saying comigo. Now you are. Now you are, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So myla comigo was mine.
SPEAKER_05All right. So I gotta go to one of my favorite albums. Nothing new. Oh that would have been nice to hear. Yes.
SPEAKER_01And that's a fun one with the who. Huh.
SPEAKER_05Exactly. That's what I thought of the opening. Yep. And she sang that during the get on your feet tour.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Mm-hmm. I I took it back and I slowed things down at this point because, you know, we are older. So after Conga, I just want to be happy, Dr. B, we you know, gotta give the audience a little break. So I went with No será fácil.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So that's a throwback. Track number four is our mid-tempo feel good song. Uh, I guess it doesn't have to need to feel good, but I chose a mid-tempo song to sort of, like you said, bring the temperature down a little bit, have us catch our breaths, have Gloria catch her breath. Um I chose cuando hay amor, which front door.
SPEAKER_03I did too.
SPEAKER_01Oh, good. No way.
SPEAKER_03I did too. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_01I wasn't sure if that was mid-tempo, but it seems mid-tempo, except for how mine was in Spanish as well.
SPEAKER_05But mine was ayer. Okay, that's a good one too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Because that one, you know, it starts off slow. It does, you know, it does ramp up, but that's what I mean. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, that's awesome.
SPEAKER_01The next track is a track of uh three songs, right? I picked three songs for this. Yep. An acoustic medley. Mine's so weird.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01It's bizarre. Um I had two, I had two versions of it. The first one was more singles that we've all heard, like whatever. But the next, what I ended up writing down was a sort of Gloria's political songs. The really sort of emotional, dark, political songs that she's written, or not political, but like psychological, psychiatrist type songs, and how she grew up over time.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So we start with Close My Eyes.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01Because Close My Eyes, she's like, I don't want to see it, I don't want to hear it. If I could just close my eyes and see what I wanted to see. Then she's growing up and she does Path of the Right Love.
SPEAKER_04I like her.
SPEAKER_01She's not closed, her eyes are not closed anymore. She's opening herself up to love and light and yada yada. And then we reach the apex where she she's letting them. The let them theory.
SPEAKER_03And she goes to issue whole tell Nazi. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01So we've got Close My Eyes, Path of the Right Love, I Wish You. Gloria's growing up medley. I like that. Okay.
SPEAKER_05Oh, that's good. Yeah. That's that's very cute. Alright, so I went with my opener would be Mayanamore. I love that medley from the homecoming concert. Um and then the the the other two were difficult because I wanted to try to use songs that nobody would expect, but how can you not? So how can you not use Don't Wanna Lose You? Um and it with Your Love is Bad For Me.
SPEAKER_03I like that. And I would I would lose my you know what if I heard her sing Your Love is Bad For Me. Yes. So for mine, I was I was clearly in a space when I wrote this. Um I've been sitting on this for for a week now. And my medley consists of I'm not giving you up, the original album version, leading into cuts both ways, and then ending with good morning heartache. Yikes! So I was clearly going through it when I wrote this. Boy, oh boy.
SPEAKER_05I never even thought of the standards when I come up with this list.
SPEAKER_03I just I you know she performed Good Morning Heartache on the uh it's a late night show, Craig Ferguson, I believe it was. And oh my god, she sounded uh so amazing. It's just the way that uh um her her vocals just wrapped around that song so beautifully. Um I saw her sing it live at the the standards concert uh in Miami, but the way that she sang it on the Craig Ferguson uh the Craig Ferguson Oh my god, I can't say Oh, speaking of pronunciations, but the way that she sang it on the Craig Ferguson show was beautiful. So that is my acoustic medley.
SPEAKER_05That's good.
SPEAKER_01I love that. Um that concludes uh act one of our concert. Uh so uh so far, if you're if you're at my show, Gloria has sung Party Time, Hot Summer Nights, Baila Commigo, Cuando hay Amor, and then a medley of Close My Eyes, Path of the Right Love, and I Wish You.
SPEAKER_03Okay, but what is she wearing for part one?
SPEAKER_01Oh god.
SPEAKER_03I'm not a fashion person.
SPEAKER_01You know it's gonna be some big red poofy dress. You know what? I loved what she wore at the Madrid concert to open it. That white and black with the I think it was tied in the front. Yes, yes, and that was great.
SPEAKER_03Giovanna mentioned it last week, where when she's just like dressed like that or in jeans, or I I think uh it makes a difference during the performance as well because you can tell that she's just so comfortable and you know, perfect example with what you just said in Madrid. I felt like she was running all over the place because she seemed so comfortable. And I know that she felt very comfortable with her shoes. Um they were like this huge, not platforms, but they were they looked very cushion-y. Um, so she was just bouncing around all over the place. All right, so Wes, how about your you want to go?
SPEAKER_05All right, so I've got I've got get on your feet, Conga, nothing new. Man amore, don't want to lose you, and your love is bad for me. Love it. So far.
SPEAKER_03Okay. And mine starts with the Conga I Just Wanna Be Happy mix, Dr. B, no sera facil, cuando hay amor, and then the medley that contains I'm not giving you up. Cuts both ways, and good morning heartache.
SPEAKER_01We are moving into our Latin act. Act two is a Latin section.
SPEAKER_03Alright, let's do it.
SPEAKER_01I did not pick Wippa, I just said Wepa. Um, although that could have been fun. I've never seen Wepa live. We're beginning with a song that celebrates cultural pride. And I have six songs crossed out on mine. Um but I think cultural pride ultimately I went with a song that I've never seen live that would be great to hear again. Tres gotas de agua bendita.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I like that one.
SPEAKER_01And that's still cultural pride.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I went with Mitiara. Okay. I was close to I mean I I I how could you not go with that one, you know?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um I actually went with Tradición.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Those songs appear later in my set list.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01But I had Montuno crossed out, I had Tradicion crossed out, mitierra crossed out.
SPEAKER_03You had the whole Mi Tierra album.
SPEAKER_01This is still within the Latin section and track number seven, I guess, in our Latin section is A Spanish Love Song or a Spanish Tear Jerker. And I went with one of my all-time favorites of all time, Mi Wenamoro. Okay.
SPEAKER_05That's a good one. Is that a tearjerker for you?
SPEAKER_01Oh my god. Yeah. Really? Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_05Okay. See, none of these are tearjerkers for me because I don't understand them. Well, I mean, I could if I wanted to look up the lyrics, but um, I went with Yo Kiero Cer. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it is a good song. It is a beautiful song.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I I can make that part out, but like to be a tearjerker, I don't it's a little different for me than you guys.
SPEAKER_03See, for for me, a song that truly is a tearjerker is Vueltas de la Vida.
SPEAKER_01We've talked for years about how the bonus tracks on 90 millas are incredibly high quality.
SPEAKER_03I don't understand how they weren't included on the um just the the regular album.
SPEAKER_05They were they were in Japan. Well weren't live in Japan. They weren't and that's that's what I tried to figure out. I was like, why weren't they all on the album in Japan? They weren't like God, that song I I've cried to that song.
SPEAKER_03I've I have. That one truly is a cheer jerker for me.
SPEAKER_01It's funny that you bring this up because the next track in our Latin section is a reimagined salsa version of a song. So this is a song that does not have a Sansa version yet, but that would given this show. So given the same treatment like hoy and como el duele perderte. So this was another one that had a lot of ones crossed out. But ultimately, I went with Alberte Partir from Noventami, yes. Because if you listen to the song, there you go, it the rhythm of it, the not the syncopation of it, but like the the melody of the song, if they just increased the speed of the melody a little bit, it has a sassaness to it. I think you're on to something there. I can hear it in my head. Now that I'm a musician, I'd had a guitar teacher and he got deported after one lesson, so I never got to learn.
SPEAKER_03You know, but you've mentioned that previously, and I had a few people ask me about that. So we need to at some point we need to dive into that story.
SPEAKER_01We could, sure. Um, it's not that great of a story, anyway. Uh, in my mind, Alverte Partir has Sasa kind of baked into it already, and I can totally hear it having this really cool arrangement. Okay, but there's a cool album idea, Gloria, if you're listening. I Sasa versions of your songs.
SPEAKER_05I do like that. Um, so hopefully, mine I'm I'm looking at it from this perspective as like a slower song into a faster-paced song. So I went with Besseme.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I like the Besseme.
SPEAKER_03I love that song.
SPEAKER_01Me too.
SPEAKER_03I need to listen to it again so that way I could kind of imagine it as a salsa version. Um, I went just because uh so we've heard the the banda is it called banda um version um of agua dulce. So I'm wondering maybe a salsa version of agua dulce. That would be cool.
SPEAKER_05I knew you were gonna get that song in this set list somewhere.
SPEAKER_01The ones that I had crossed out was uh Raises was there because I think Raises could work. Damian Trapo was there because I think that could work.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That was a fun one to imagine. Like the daydream, the daydreaming of this one track in particular was fun. Our last one that closes out our Latin section is a Latin dance banger. So Gloria has a lot of Latin music in English and Spanish. So I chose a song in English for this one. I chose Make My Heart Go.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that would definitely get the crowd going.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's a great one. That's one of my favorite songs from that album. So I I'm not sure if I'm breaking the rules here, but I'm putting the three songs together. Alright, here we go. And the order may be weird, but uh it's it is whatever. Montuno, because that's one of my favorites. You really do love Montuno. Yes, I love that song. Higher Tres de Seos medley. Okay, I love that that that medley. So that that that would be my that would be my pick.
SPEAKER_03Love it, love it, and the higher 3 deceos medley that she performed in the evolution tour. So it was the Mega Mix, um, 3 de Seos higher. During that whole section, that's when I had an asthma attack. I bet I did. I literally had an asthma attack during the evolution tour, during that section, and I wouldn't say anything to anyone because I didn't want anyone to like rush me out of the venue. So I'm like, I don't care if I die right now, I'm gonna die listening to this woman sing higher.
SPEAKER_05Were you like sitting up like front row?
SPEAKER_03No, I was all the way in the back, all the way in the nosebleeds, last row. Like I literally was oh my god, all the way in the back.
SPEAKER_01She's saying concept me trying deseos, and you're like, I have one deseo just to whoop to breathe.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, um, Latin dance banger for me. Uh this was a no-brainer. Uh I think you guys could guess which song I would have chosen. Do yo. Do yo. Come on. Okay. Yep. Do yo. That's just we we need that. We need that live.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so our Latin section is closed out now. And uh to recap, uh I started with Tres Gotas, De Agua Bendita, we did Mi Buen Amor, our salsa version of Alberte Partir, and we're closing out the Latin section with Make My Heart Go from Miss Little Havana. Which should have been a single. Yes.
SPEAKER_05And I went with Mitiera, Yo quiero ser, Pesame as a salsa version, uh, Mantuno, and higher 13 Seos medley.
SPEAKER_03Wes, I really do think that you were Cuban in a past life or something. Because the way that you just the way that you just say these words just so effortlessly. I mean, um, all right, so my Latin section consists of Tradicion, Vueltas de la Vida, Agua Dulce, Salsa version, and tuyo.
SPEAKER_01Amazing. So we have our Latin dance banger that leads us into what will be Carlos's favorite section of the show, the uns unts version.
SPEAKER_02I'm so excited!
SPEAKER_01It is the disco slash dance section of our Dream Gloria concert. So the next track I'm so excited about because it is a 70s or 80s throwback dance song. So in my show, we're going from Make My Heart Go into Toda Duya.
SPEAKER_03So that do ya. Oh, I love that.
SPEAKER_01I love that song.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I love you too. I think you're gonna be mad with my my choice, but Wes, go.
SPEAKER_05Yo Tambian Kerobailar.
SPEAKER_03Yo tambien.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love that.
SPEAKER_05In the Suave. Oh pick two. He's doing menu.
SPEAKER_03Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01Um, this is like Glory's gonna work at my show. She's doing 45 songs.
SPEAKER_03So mine is not a throwback, but at this point, it kind of is a throwback, and it is 70s. How could we not go with 70s moment medley?
SPEAKER_05Uh-huh. I thought about that too, but then I was like, yep, I thought about that too.
SPEAKER_03But that's fine. She could do the short version. She doesn't have to include don't let this moment end.
SPEAKER_05Oh no, it's gotta be the 15-minute one.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I'm all for the 15-minute one. But yeah, I I mean, what a way to start a a new, you know, what is what is this called? Section or whatever. Um, 70s moment, at least for me. Yep, that's a good one. Fine.
SPEAKER_01Our next track in our disco dance act is an underrated dance floor jam mashup. And so my mashup, you'd be surprised. Here we go. Because you think I don't like this album, but I love this album. I chose Don't Stop and Feelin' mashed up.
SPEAKER_05Okay. That's good. That's a good one.
SPEAKER_01Love, love, love, love feeling.
SPEAKER_05That's good. I like that. That's good. So yeah, underrated for sure on the first one, but the second one's not necessarily underrated because it's fan favorite, and you guys won't be surprised about this one at all. I went with out of nowhere into I Just Wanna Be Happy.
SPEAKER_04Okay, I like that.
SPEAKER_03Fun. So for me, I went with Make My Heart Go into Real Woman. Totally random. Totally, but why not mash those two up? Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_03That's good.
SPEAKER_01And then we're kind of coming to the end of the show. We're at section number 12, track number 12, and we're doing, you know, like that time in a concert where it's like they pretend to leave. This is the high-energy pre-encore closer. So Gloria's putting on airs that she's leaving, that the show's over. Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye. And then she comes back for the medley, obviously, for the encore. But mine is Cuba Libre.
SPEAKER_03Okay. See, which gets everyone like pumped up. That song does get everyone pumped up.
SPEAKER_05So that was cool to see live for well. I saw a lot of songs live for the first time, you know, a couple months ago. But where? Um, right. Today's pick on West, Danny. Where I went with feeling. I'm very gloria-heavy there. How could you not, though, for that this this section? I agree. But I went with feeling.
SPEAKER_03I went with a medley. Oye, and Hotel Nacional. That's good. I think we could done medleys on every one of these tracks.
SPEAKER_05That would have made that wouldn't have made it fair, though, right?
SPEAKER_03Put the musicians to work. They could, you know, weave them and make you know do their magic.
SPEAKER_01So our dance section comes to a close. Of course.
SPEAKER_03And it goes so quickly because, you know, God forbid Rob adds. Yeah, why couldn't we add in like two more tracks? Because Rob came up with this, and you know how he feels about dance music.
SPEAKER_01Um that concludes our dance section, everybody. And mine is Toda Tuya, and then a mashup of Don't Stop and Feelin'. And our show close, our fake show closer is Kuba Libre.
SPEAKER_05So mine is a mashup of Yo Tembian Kira Bailar and Suave. Another mashup of Out of Nowhere, I Just Wanna Be Happy, and then Feelin'.
SPEAKER_03Awesome. And then mine starts off the section with the 70s moment medley, then a mashup of Make My Heart Go and Real Woman. And then another mashup of Oye and Hotel Nacional. That's good.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so now we have to imagine that it's a very dramatic lighting, the show's over, kind of. We pretend like people the people who don't know start walking out, and then they come back. The lights come back up, it's moody, and we're in our encore. And everyone's screaming, oh dra! Oh draw dra. And I love in an encore, and the reason I chose this section next, I love it an encore when it doesn't start big right away where it builds, right? So I like when there's a few ballad moments or like really dramatic moments in a in an encore. So the next one, lights come back up after Guba Libre, and we're getting introspective. Our introspective ballad section. And I chose Remember Me With Love for this song.
SPEAKER_05I love that song. Me too.
SPEAKER_01You did too, Wes?
SPEAKER_05Yes, I did. Yep, me too. That was the first one that popped into my mind when you when you when I uh when I read that.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's a great song.
SPEAKER_05Yep, it is. I mean she refers to that a lot, even you know, in interviews, she's still. She does. Yep.
SPEAKER_03She does. It's a beautiful song. It is. I went with a mashup of Close My Eyes and Famous.
SPEAKER_01Oh, interesting.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Wow. Very introspective.
SPEAKER_03Very, very introspective.
SPEAKER_01Okay, our next track is uh it kind of open to interpretation. I wrote an emotional or personal fan favorite, which is a Noxymoron. If it's a personal or emotional favorite of yours, I don't know. I don't know what I meant by this. Um so whatever you interpreted, it's up to you. I went with coming out of the dark for this one. Okay.
SPEAKER_05I went with a little push. Ooh.
SPEAKER_03That's one of my favorites. That's a good one. Um I don't know. This is not emotional, and I don't know if this is a personal fan favorite. I just went with what I wanted to hear at this point, which was you've made me uh so very happy.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's I don't know. That's nice. It's an you know, a feel good song.
SPEAKER_05That was one of my favorites.
SPEAKER_03That wasn't that I mean, it didn't ask for a feel-good song, but I just felt like after Close My Eyes and Famous, I would want to hear something a little bit more, you know. Like picking back up a little bit.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So as we know, a lot of times Gloria's album closers, like the last track in her song and her albums, are introspective or they're you know, softer, or there's a deeper message. So the next track is an album closer, any album closer, any last track on an album. So for this, I went with famous. Okay.
SPEAKER_05That was mine initially, but then I I I changed it up because I just went with an unwrapped song. I went with Reach. Ooh, okay.
SPEAKER_03That's good. Um, I went with anything for you. I can't, I mean, I have to hear that song. She has to sing it, so that's my album closer.
SPEAKER_01That's great. So next is a later career deep cut. And uh this song is a deep cut to me only because it's not a single yet. And we're picking up the pace, we're closing out the show. We've had a few ballads already. We did three really serious songs, yeah, and we're going into Tuyo for Ooh, oh, I love it.
SPEAKER_03You know what? All 17 uh tracks should have just been Tuyo. Just a whole concert of her singing to yo back to back. I like that, Rob.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I do too. I went with I Wish You.
SPEAKER_03I wish you. Okay, perfect. I okay, I need things to pick back up, and I'm ready to shake my ass again. Um, and I went with this one because it was not a single, but I went with esta fiesta, no macabad.
SPEAKER_01Fun. Fun, fun, fun. That's a good one.
SPEAKER_03And that's just leading into what's coming next.
SPEAKER_01So let's do it. What's coming next is our end of show big finish. I wrote it could be a mashup of two, but I went with three. And you know what? You two have broken the rules the whole time. Oh no, I whatever.
SPEAKER_05Oh, wait until my I went wild. Oh my god. I went with two. I was I thought of I had a third one, so maybe I'll I cheated on this one.
SPEAKER_01I cheated big time. So from my show, we just did duyo, and we are ending the show with a mashup of tradición, mi tierra, and oye mi canto.
SPEAKER_05I love it. That's good. I love it.
SPEAKER_03That's a good mashup. That's a that's a really good mashup.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_03Now, is is the violin player in there too?
SPEAKER_01I hope so.
SPEAKER_03Because that let me tell you, that violin part when she did um that mashup uh in what was it, live and unwrapped?
SPEAKER_01Unwrapped.
SPEAKER_03Oh that that just like the song just goes it it's it they take it to another level when they out of this world, add that violin.
SPEAKER_05Yep, I agree. I'd forgot about that, but yeah, now you took me back. Yep, nope, totally.
SPEAKER_03So what's a US?
SPEAKER_05I went with let's get loud and party time. Let's get loud and party time.
SPEAKER_03That's a good way to end the show. Yeah, I like that. I I cheated. I cheated big time because you said could be a mashup of two, and I did take two, but I took the Miami mega mix and the hit mix. Oh my god, put it all together. So I'm putting her ass to work at the end of the show. Her ass is gonna be sweating like crazy because she is singing Dr. Beat, Kong Rhythm's gonna get you one, two, three, get on your feet. I'm not giving you up, party time, me tierra, live for loving you, trends, everlasting love, and turn the beat around. That's how we end. That's how we end the show.
SPEAKER_05I was about to quiz you. I was like, okay, so some people may not know those because there's a lot of medley or uh uh mega mixes over the over time. And uh I was gonna quiz you to see if you would give us all those tracks, but yeah, that's a good that's a good mashup. So I just put them all together. It's two songs, just one mashed up, but they're two medli are mega mixes. It would turn into a 40-minute song.
SPEAKER_01And the trip to the cardiologist.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you'll definitely have some people going into SVT with they're gonna have to bring out the stretcher for her. Yeah, some people may know what SVT. For me, yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know what? If if she brought back the mega mix ever, it would be so much fun. Like the evolution tour mega mix is my one of my favorite things she's ever done.
SPEAKER_03I love that, especially when she not only performed it during the evolution tour, but when she did it um at the Disney celebration, the 25-year celebration at Epcot. I love that. That was fun. But we've seen her perform the mega mix. We've never seen her perform the hit mix before. So that's she could bring that mix later.
SPEAKER_05Yep. Yep. Because it's a 20-minute song or mega mix, that's probably why.
SPEAKER_03Or just mash them all up. I mean, we at this point we do need a new mega mix because the the hit mix was 1998. The my the glorious hit mix was 1998, yep. 1998. So it's been a minute. We need uh can someone call Pablo Flores and put his ass to work?
SPEAKER_05So here I'm wrong. The Gloria Hit Mix is not, I'm thinking of the party time mega mix. That one's the 20-minute version, so everybody's listening back to me. I'm wrong. So, but still it's very similar. Pablo did both produce both of those.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so I think um, listen, I think the listeners, fans would enjoy all three of these shows. So I think Gloria should just go ahead and do a residency in Vegas. Uh-huh. We start off with Rob's set list on Friday. We're gonna be at every show. Wes' set list on a Saturday and end mine on a Sunday.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna have to end with yours because and she'll be in the hospital. We're gonna be able to survive on Monday.
SPEAKER_05We'll come back without any money from Vegas because we'll be there every day.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01So that concludes our concert set list. Um, to close out, my introspective ballad was Remember Me With Love. We did Coming Out of the Dark, Famous, Tuy Yo, and then a mashup of Tradición, mi tierra, and Oye Mi Canto.
SPEAKER_05And mine was Remember Me with Love as well, A Little Push, Reach, I Wish You And a Mashup of Let's Get Loud and Party Time.
SPEAKER_03And mine was a mashup of Close My Eyes and Famous, You've Made Me So Very Happy, Anything for You, Esta Fiesta No Vacalad, and then a Mashup of the Miami Mega Mix and the Hit Mix.
SPEAKER_01From here, I say we do two things where people who listen to this episode can vote on whose set list of the three of us was their favorite. Okay. And then we can invite people to make their set list of their own.
SPEAKER_03I like that. I like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I like that. So what we're gonna do, everybody, is uh We would love to hear your dream set list. So stay tuned to our Instagram or our Twitter and our Facebook and look out for when we ask you to make your set list of your own using our categories. And you can be as loose with the rules as these two were because as us two? How about you? I I made the rules. I can break the rules. So stay tuned for that. We're gonna we're gonna hope to see a lot of people participating with what they think was their favorite of the three of ours and what they would love to see live.
SPEAKER_03And Rob, you're gonna end with singing Tola Toya to us, right?
SPEAKER_01That's right. Yeah, I'm gonna leave that. I'm gonna cut it. Oh, oh, I just sang it. That's it. I hope you liked it.
SPEAKER_05Loved it. It was awesome. This was a fun episode, yes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think so too. Yeah. Alright, well, until next time, everybody, thanks for listening.
